the fabric book/ making of

My sweet lili had a fabric book for her birthday. A book that she can try to eat, twist or throw as she wants to. A light book, in which she can recognize all members of her family and all her animals. A book just for her, that we love to read with her. For the moment, I must admit that she prefers the pages with the animals. Ahem. Oh my baby love.
A little making of, as some of you so gently asked how I made it.
- I choose the pictures, put text with them and turn all (like in a mirror) with this website
- I made a Word file with all pictures and texts in order to avoid white space.
- I printed my Word file with my inkjet printer on this transfer paper (I have to admit that I had to make choices because I had only two sheets left and it was the evening before her birthday...).
- Then I transfered the pictures on an old and white jersey tee-shirt, with the iron (3 minutes without steam, then wait one minute and remove the paper).
- pictures and texte are now on the right side and then I sewed them on the "pages" of my book (15 cm fabric squares, some of them coming from Lotta Jansdotter),
- then I sewed the pages together, while taking care of placing padding in the cover pages.
The idea comes from Amanda, of course!
