on a calm day

Yesterday, was a calm day... the kind of day so different from the others days of the year, because I was not working and the little kids (my babes!) where at school/ at the nursery. On this kind of day, there is a theoretical list of things I keep on thinking about, things not so easy to make with a 18months little girl in the arms or a five years old boy around. I thought at first I would go to the barn where so much is needed to do, make, build and continue. Perhaps to put red clay on the wall as I did on Monday, cut the brambles outside, began the outside wall and make make make. And then, after the night, I felt I needed some other feed that a make-make-make day. I needed to breathe, my soul and body were claiming a spiritual housecleaning before this new period ahead. A new month, a new season approaching, a new rhythm to take, a new cycle to me. This kind of day is really unusual to me but I tried to slow down and just feel my inside light, feet in the grass, cat on my knees, writing, knitting a little bit, harvesting like a treasure the last peaches of the season in the peach tree of the garden, putting my feet and body in the cold water of the river, like a ritual way to another step. Of course, making, a little bit, to clean the spirit, to clean out the background noise, to make a pause, on a calm day.
